1. Use the desulfator as soon as you can & Continuously
You will enjoy the best results in battery lifespan optimization the earlier you install the desulfator. So install your Infinitum desulfator as soon as you can. All batteries will eventually expire even with the use of desulfators, the difference with desulfators is that the lifespan of the battery would be optimized.
Prevention is always better than cure. Instead of waiting for your battery to show signs of a performance drop or even failure before you consider getting one or installing the desulfator that you already purchased.
The Infinitum Desulfator is designed to shatter the existing sulfate crystal build up as well as to prevent its growth, so you should keep the desulfator installed throughout the lifespan of the battery to enjoy maximum results.
2. Use it even for aged batteries
As batteries approach its end of life, the probability of optimization or recovery gets slimmer. Should you have a battery that is relatively aged and have yet to install a desulfator, we still recommend to start using it as there is still a chance of optimization or recovery.
For faster results, install it on your battery with an external smart battery charger (with an amp rating that is recommended for your battery). The battery will take about 2 to 3 days to fully desulfate with a continuous charge. The process takes about 2 weeks for a vehicle that is driven daily or in a solar operation with at least 4 hours of good sun per day.
Since Infinitum Desulfators are robust and reusable, your purchase is never a waste as the same unit can be used on the next replacement battery and the next after that. We have users using the same desulfator for over 12 years, during which time, it would have optimized several batteries.
All solar batteries degenerate in performance and lifespan from a process called sulfation. Sulfation is a build up of an insulating layer of spongy sulfate crystals which occurs whenever a battery discharges. The live of the battery or active material become lodged in an unusable crystalline form. The process reverses whenever the batteries are charged. However since the amount of time where a battery is discharging is higher than when it is charged, over time the sulfate crystals harden and cannot return as active material even with charging.
A customer from Canada recently sent us images of his installation of four 24V Infinitum Desulfators on his 24V solar battery bank made up of eight 12V batteries. We see here four parallel rows of two 12V batteries in series. One 24V desulfator is installed on each two 12V batteries in series.

We received a number of images from a customer recently installed the Infinitum Desulfator he purchased for his 2007 4WD Mitsubishi Triton truck.
The installation gallery shows how simple it is to perform the installation. Find a place close to the battery to stick the desulfator unit on. Making sure that the surface is clean and free from dirt or dust. The Infinitum Desulfator comes with industrial strength 3M double sided tape that is already stuck on the backside of the unit. Press firmly on the desulfator unit after it is stuck so that the double sided tape properly adheres to the surface you have selected.
In this instant, the customer chose to stick the unit on the fuse box cover which is located right next to the battery. The cables are then connected to the battery terminals, matching the color on the cables. There is no need to disconnect the battery during the installation. Loosen the nut and slip in the fork lugs and tighten again, ensuring that the installation is firm. You will only need to completely remove the nut if you purchased the model with the ring lug.

Most batteries in warmer climates like the one found in the tropical climate of Malaysia usually last 1 to 2 years. The doubling of the battery life span that Dr. Nizam enjoyed from the single Infinitum Desulfator unit he purchased from us not only saved one but two batteries and will continue to do so for a few more batteries.

In an effort to reduce battery replacement cost, a poultry meat distribution company based in Malaysia had their trucks fitted with the Infinitum Desulfators. Though the trucks are used more regularly than domestic vehicles, the trucks are still parked longer than they are used. This results in the build up of crystallised sulfation that kills batteries prematurely.
Now with the 24V desulfator installed, the two 12V batteries set in series will not only perform better but will have its lifespan optimised. Below are images of the installation on one of those trucks which took about 5 minutes to perform.
